For what it's worth, the Australilan press is positively giddy over Obama's election, and not because its commentators think he'll be a special frieind to Arabs and Muslims.

(The other big news story in Oz this week is the pending execution of the Bali bombers in Indonesia.)

Which Obama never received, the United States having left the nineteenth century more than 100 years ago. I can almost picture Medvedev spending the entire day Wednesday tapping away at the "Red Telegraph" on his desk that Putin told him was a direct line to the White House, wondering why nobody was Morse coding him back.
