Kerry: "The Myth of a Maverick"

The opening of John Kerry's speech was hardly inspiring--bad memories of 2004--until he hit on this "Senator McCain" vs. "Candidate McCain" riff, which is lighting up the hall. Someone give that speechwriter a raise.

Update: I'm reliably told Kerry wrote "99.9 percent" of his own speech. Bravo, Senator.

I still love "now talk about voting for someone before voting against it!"  That had to be sweet for John Kerry.
