Stop the presses!

Which "guy"? Father of Rielle's baby?
Tep, I dunno, I think you have just unseated my post of the day.
:-)
"The Guy" - you know, from Spy Kids 3-D.
Its not me, either.
Hold the Presses ... because if Biden *were* the guy (whichever the guy), he'd of course scoop Obama (or Edwards) ... I think silly season has yet to come to an end.
I really hope this is a fantastic misdirection, and he really is "the guy."
"Stop the presses!"
This obsessive tea leaves reading is nauseating, discrediting the meaning of journalism, and seriosuness, even in the blogosphere.
They called, but I turned them down.
I figured that I am not old enough to meet Tep's experience criteria.
I am getting the sense that no one quite believes Mr. Biden's denial.
When exactly did "the guy" replace "the man"? I'm not the guy, don't be that guy, the go-to guy, or even thanks to "The West Wing," the difference between the go-to guy and just plain the guy. I know a guy, I've got a guy, so the guy says.
Used to be "the man" was in charge. Now it's "the guy." Sometime between, say, 1988 and 2002, it would seem, "the guy" staged a quiet coup and took the place of "the man."
As for Biden? He's a good guy. Smart guy. My kind of guy. I'd rather it were that other guy, but if he's Obama's guy, that'd be OK with this guy.
I think John Gotti said that.
Gotti also said "I never lie because I don't fear anyone. You only lie when you're afraid." & "If you think your boss is stupid, remember: you wouldn't have a job if he was any smarter."
See, but then if he -is- the guy, count on Republicans to throw together some attack ads that would go straight to his credibility -- invented the internets, plagiarized some foreign dude, said he wasn't the "guy"...
in fact, I even think there's a Defense of Marriage angle here...
hmm, having seen the clip now, I'm not convinced at all. I think he just wanted to say something, rather than drive by silently and be seen as ratcheting it up a notch. On paper it sounded morose, but the 'see ya' and the smile seemed fairly relaxed and upbeat.
Perhaps we are not taking this particular post as seriously as 'Chicken Little' Crowley intended. Perhaps, even as I type this standard piffle that I generate on a regular basis (Boy, can't you tell I am between terms right now? Ugh, fall term starts Monday. Yeesh.), Mr. Crowley is readying a post that chids us for not understanding the horrifying truth in all of this - If Joe Biden isn't the VP, my God, Barack Obama could lose this race!!!! If that happens, the Democratic Party will implode, Western representational republics will collapse, our very way of life will disappear, the dolphins will leave the planet, and some ghastly alien life form will come and turn every last one of us into hors d'oeuvres - all because Joe Biden said, "I'm not the guy."
also saw the clip. He was joking around with the gaggle outside his house...
From HuffPost:
A figure familiar with Biden's thinking says the remark is hardly consequential.
"That is a comment that he typically gives for people who ask about [the vice presidency]," the source said, adding that it has been the senator's stock answer to the question for weeks now.
In other words, let the speculation continue.
"Start the Presses!"
What a lot of fol-de-rol. (I just love that word, "fol-de-rol;" so, I'll say it again:
"What a bunch of fol-de-rol!")
I have to agree with Nader (I can't believe I'm saying that!), but a Clinton still seems to be a possibility. It would also put this thing to bed. It would change the narrative and the McCain campaign just wouldn't be able to react. And given the Obama campaign's savvy so far, I would not be surprised if they have managed the speculation perfectly so that they could blow everyone's mind by choosing Clinton.

He didn't lie. Joe Biden is having a sex change operation this week, and will be nominated in Denver as the first trans-sexual VP candidate in history.
AAAIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are reduced to taking political advince from Ralph Nader?!?
Good lord, Chan's idea is infinitely better.
My God, the very thought of Nader dishing out advice or claiming some knowledge of the inner-circle has clearly addled my brain.
'advince' - should be 'advice'
"Say thank you to the nice man in the white coat, Mr. Grant."
Why am I the first Biden in twelve generations to be considered for the Vice-presidency?
I don't see how Clinton loses the election for them. She brings more voters than anyone else, certainly more than she costs. And I was agreeing with Nader, not taking his advice, thanks. :)
"I don't see how Clinton loses the election for them. She brings more voters than anyone else, certainly more than she costs."
Where do you get that? I could easily see her costing more voters than she'd bring in.
A few points..."I'm not the guy." simply meant, "You're talking to the wrong guy...someone else is will be answering that question.". I believe as of yesterday Biden may not have been off the short list but not certified either.
Regardless, there hasn't been anything close to a credible source who has provided an argument that is anything more than a guess. Three different reporters run three different leads and the best they can do is eliminate names & then they hedge on that. I'll leave it to the few at TNR who have had more than one foot inside the operations but this seems to have the secrecy of a Manhattan Project or the F-117.
Sticking to my conviction that the short list has been a diversion is more foolish than plausible. But I'll be able to defend my suspicion as easily and anyone who is pulling a name that has been floating. Should the name not be one of the expected few, I doubt that anyone will be able back-track and find anyone close to the top of the team who stated those 3-5 were the only one's in the finals.
From the Ticker - Caroline Kennedy floated for VP. politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com
Delivering that crucial Martha's Vineyard vote.

No surprise here...
Yeah, so that Caroline Kennedy could become the Harriet Whatsherface and Dickcheney of this cycle all rolled into one?
My political ticker says it's gonna be Oprah. Hey, you gotta problem with that?
Of course, "I'm not the guy" could simply be missing the word "yet"...
