McCain's Budget-Busting

It seems to me that the broader media should make clear that most any fair reading of McCain's budgetary plans translates into a massive deficit, even if Obama's not exactly in perfect balance himself.

This should be elucidated by the press. Contrary to the myth of Republican fiscal responsibility, Republican presidents (with the exception of G.H.W. Bush) have run up huge deficits in the last generation. What kind of fiscal conservative would McCain be as president, an actual one or a rhetorical one?
