The mayor of Obama, Japan commented that he felt they need a leader like Barack Obama in Japan.  That same sentiment had been echoed in Canada, Israel, South Africa and I'm sure other countries as well.  There really is a world-wide desire for change... maybe the US can once again become an example for other countries to emulate rather than a source of ire and consternation.

I think it's sweet that they see a shared "Pacific Heritage" in that he hails originally from Hawaii.
