The Limbaugh Effect?

Possibly picking up on an early poll breakdown by Chait, the Obama campaign sends out the following:

According to the latest exit polling data, 17% of voters in the Indiana primary today said they would vote for John McCain in a Clinton/McCain matchup.

41% of that number is constituted by people who voted Clinton in the primary but also indicated they will vote for McCain in the general election.

That comes out to just under 7% of the primary electorate the number that may be attributed to a “Limbaugh Effect.

The spinning is endless. Well, this phase of it will end in early June, at least. Then the superdelegates will be the playing field, even far more than they already are.

Oh pluleeze LR, are you trying to claim that HRC has the high road on spin after the gas bag tax silliness, and the 'break up OPEC' nonsense. I can name a whole lot more...here, BO simply repeats what someone ELSE has said...which in themselves is just a simple calculation of the numbers, how is that spin?

From The New York Times.

"About one-fifth of Mr. Obama’s supporters in Indiana said they would vote for Mr. McCain in a general election should Mrs. Clinton get the nomination."

Are they not radio listeners?

I'm actually going to take a pro-Hillary position on this one.

Frankly - Obama has benefited TREMENDOUSLY from tons of Republicans voting in the Democratic primaries who might at least respect him but who are really motivated by hatred of the Clintons. Furthermore - tons of voters in southern states have voted for Clinton to stop a black man or a muslim. And some have voted strategically because Clinton is weaker or because a vote for Clinton will extend this thing.

Now - maybe some of these votes are a bit more sincere than others, but I haven't seen solid numbers yet to suggest that any one candidate is benefiting tremendously from Republican voting.

Dbhuff: I was just making the neutral point that the spin continues to spin forth, just as it has done all year and as it will continue to do until Hillary draws her last breath.
