What does pandering to the Pennsylvania Amish entail?
Update: Ask the Bush '04 campaign! Looks like this may not be an important Democratic primary bloc.

Well, not TV spots...
"Yea, verily I say to thee, brethren and sisters, we must not stop until the engine, uh, horse, yeah, horse of progress leads us into a bold new, uh, future, which respectfully acknowledges the ways of our forefathers and mothers."
And don't refer to speeches as "barn burners."
Actually, and this is true, Bush campaigned hard to win the Amish vote in 2000 and 2004:

"What does pandering to the Pennsylvania Amish entail?"
Buggy whip subsidies and oat tariffs.
Clinton: "You know, Obama's 'English'..."
I don't think Hillary will be able to grow the kind of beard that would earn her respect among Amish elders.

Maybe Obama should show up and not ask them to vote for him. Wonder if that would do any good?
Actually, Hillary's father IS English ... maybe we have just identified the only bloc of voters with whom Obama can make inroads through an ethnic smear campaign. Too bad the Amish don't tend to have Internet access.
It's already Wednesday morning, and no sign of an Amish section at my.barackobama.com. It's like he doesn't even _want_ to win Pennsylvania.
Ja wir koennen!
