The piece by TNR's Gabe Sherman that the McCain campaign has been talking about is online now. Read it here.

The TNR piece keeps telling us that the NYT's reporters felt they had "the goods," but I'm still not clear on what they asserted they had that wasn't published. Are we talking specifically about the affair?
After having read both the Times piece and the TNR article, I must admit to wondering if anyone has anything substantial to say about anything. True, I find the questions about McCain's dealing with lobbyists to be more concerning than any possible affair, but given that most people would have the opposite take, I wonder what (if anything) the Times has to support the salacious allegations.
This whole gambit is spiralling downward, fast... Are you guys secretly in the tank for McCain?
Hard to imagine a bigger gift to the McCain campaign than a botched release of a half-baked story of a non-scandal. Can we please see some competence from our side's journalists? For once?
There may be more to this story -- see this blog post by Drew Clark:

Looks like more (and more recent ) entanglement between McCain, Ion Communications and Alcade & Fay.
Timothy Noah gives both the Times and TNR the razzies about the non-story story over on Slate here:
