OH MY GOD THAT IS TERRIBLE.  HANDS DOWN, WORST YET.  The video, not the photo.  Although that kid looks less than enthused, but he could have been blinking.  When I watched the Hillary speech last night, she didn't look that psycho or that kid so reluctant, but then again I watched it on a tiny video clip from CSPAN.com.

The kid has the look of resignation and, indeed, wisdom of someone who now possesses incontrovertible proof that life is bizarre, irrational, unpredictable, and likely to include unimaginable cruelties and humiliations. His handlers--i.e., grown-ups--have been revealed to be not his protectors but in fact the perpetrators of all of the above, and more. His only possible responses are acceptance, submission, and the development of a high tolerance for suffering. Plus, failure to maintain bladder control in public may likely become an issue any moment.

Speaking of open threads, Hillary, and CNN, America's News Leader is giving play to footage of an American flag being burned in Berkley, California. Hillary must be saying, "Finally, my vote to ban flag burning is going to pay off."

Also, what the hell is Berkley thinking? I understand being against the war, but coming out against the Marine Corps? Really?

The organizers of the rally asked Mrs. Clinton if she could address the audience with some Spanish. Hillary's response was..."well I know a little Mexican...does that help?"

Re Berkeley:

My soul mate the Sonoma Hooker has two dogs, including a min-pin (miniature pincher). This thing is a cross between a weiner dog and Adolf Hitler: small yet amazingly shrill. She jumps up and scurries on her little legs to confront all manner of invading tormenters, real or imagined.  When she's really excited she pees on the rug by the front door, once in a while.

Think of Berkeley as a min-pin, noisy but harmless and you'll yell yourself blue in the face at it to no avail, might actually warn you of a real threat if you're not by then wearing earplugs, and so cute and innocent sometimes you just wanna squeeze it but you also might wanna keep a damp rag handy, just in case.

That poor kid... and she is supposed to care about children, right?  The woman is a very bad joke.

Look very closely at the crowd shot...I think I see Lou Dobbs with his Mexican girlfriend...

re Berkeley I saw in the Chronicle, our goofy local paper that screamed this story above the fold in  gazillion-point block capital letters, that the Pinkers wrapped a young pro-marine turk in pink something-or-other (latex? cellophane?) and the kid drew a switchblade on them, got arrested.

Just curious: do the marine-haters draw a distinction between recruiting for / being sent to Iraq and recruiting for /being sent to Afghanistan? Is the latter evil as well? If not, then how are they able to separate them out?

The marine haters draw no such distinction.  Unfortunately, some people's worldview is such that they believe that the American military is absolutely, positively, undeniably incapable of doing anything good under any circumstances whatsoever.

That video seems to have been made by supporters, not the campaign. Just like the "Yes We Can" thing for Obama. I'm thinking if it were made by the campaign, it would have to have "I'm Hillary Clinton, and I approved this message" on it, right?

That said, it makes "Yes We Can" look like "The Silence".

What an unfortunate picture...poor child.  The flowers don't help; comes unfortunately too close to a poor interpretation of the "beauty pageant" metaphor...
