A Unified Theory of the Clinton Campaign

So not only is Hillaryland talking up its February 5th strategy, it's now also trying to invoke the fear of terrorism.

This leads me to a mathematical formula I developed recently (knew those math courses would eventually pay off):

As Hillary's strategy (call it H) approaches Giuliani's strategy (call it R), Hillary's chances of winning the nomination (call them C) approach 0.

Or, mathematically: as H --> R, C --> 0.

You heard it here first.

Well, if HIllary can 9/11 the race, her chances of 9/11 change proportionately when you factor in that most 9/11 voters support her 9/11 on 9/11.

But that's assuming independent voters can pull their 9/11ing 9/11s out of their 9/11s.

I disagree - we need more talk about security issues.  Democrats have learned to talk about God (yuck) and they need to talk about security too.

We need a serious discussion of national security and preparedness.  Bush has failed to take appropriate measures, except in terms of surveillance and detention (where he has gobe overboard).  Port security, hardening of chemical plants and mass transit, increased public health resources and emergency services, and other strategies for protecting Americans here at home have been neglected / underfunded.

If Hillary figures she is better at this topic than Obama, then she should make that case.

That discussion needs to be free of the mindless fear-mongering of the discredited Bush administration, but as long as she sticks to the substantive aspects, I am glad that Hillary is talking about these important questions.
