And Now For the Inevitable Trippi Angle

A Democratic consultant who knows Trippi writes:

There is something almost poignant about what happened last night from Trippi's point of view. Obama pulled off in IA and is on the verge of pulling off nationally exactly what Joe's been dreaming about and working for his whole career. As I watched Obama last night--particularly the line, "I know you didn't do this for me" or words to that effect--it struck me that, in many ways, he's taken Trippi's public advice to heart (as expressed in an article you wrote) about making the movement "not about him." It's almost like he's advising Obama from the sidelines. I know Joe loves John & Elizabeth Edwards, but this whole thing has to be killing Joe inside. One way or anther, he's going to end up on the Obama campaign--I just wonder how much it affects what Edwards says and does over the next week.

There was a great piece a while back about Trippi's secret love affair with Obama. Did you write it? I can't remember.

The relevance of this is that hopefully Edwards will focus his rage towards Hillary, and donate his delegates to Obama when he drops out in 1-2 weeks.

This may have been covered in previous articles, but I was wondering what the relationship is like between Obama and Edwards.  JE didn't mention Obama in his concession speech last night, so I wasn't sure.  I hope Virginiacentrist is right about the possible donation of delegates if worse comes to worst for the Edwards campaign.

I know people came down on E for not congratulating O last night, but when I saw the speech I thought it was because he was trying to conflate himself WITH O - saying that tonight change won. So he's saying Obama does = change becase Obama clearly won. He's saying "I'm change too!" of course, but he's not denying that Obama = change here. It's more like "we won". Against H.

When they had Trippi, Penn, and Axelrod on tv all at once you couldn't tell that Trippi was not working for Axelrod instead of against him.  It was chalked up to hatred of Penn/Clinton, but I believe that it was Obama love too.

stgla, that was great TV, I thought Trippi mopped up the floor with Penn. When Edwards drops out Obama has to hire him, and when Hillary drops out ignore Penn.
