The Quotable Fred Thompson

Has Jon Stewart been intercepting the Associated Press's questions for Fred Thompson? First the AP asked all the candidates to name their most prized possession, to which Thompson, in a rather bizarre stab at humor, replied, "Trophy wife."

Then the AP asked the candidates how they like to spend "a lazy day."  The famously laconic campaigner's response? "Campaigning."

Go figure.

Update: It appears a better answer might have been "Shopping at Neiman Marcus in Virginia."
