$400 billion was transferred to Israel by Lehman Brothers on the eve of its collapse.

Read all about it in Ha'aretz

Marty, you can’t have a financial crisis without someone blaming Jews for causing it.

It reminds of the old joke: someone says “the Jews are at fault,” to which a Jews replies yes, “the Jews and the bicyclists.” “Why the bicyclists?” asks the antisemite. “Why the Jews?” Comes the reply.

The Haaretz article says that some of it was posted on the Huffington post. Don’t these people support Obama? Just asking.

Jackson,

A long long time ago a high school history teacher of mine put forth the proposition that in many respects the political spectrum is not linear but rather is a circle.  In other words that at some point, the extreme right and extreme left meet and have very similar, if not identical philosophical / political attitudes and positions regarding many issues.

I guess anti-Semitism, and even more so, anti-Israelism is one of those issues.

As a wise man said several thousand years ago, דור הולך ודור בא, ואין חדש תחת השמש.....

Jackson: shame on you for never missing an opportunity to smear Obama or his supporters. The Haaretz does not say the slander WAS posted on the Huffington Post, but that someone TRIED to:

The "story" first appeared a week ago on the Web site of Jeff Rense, a former journalist who has published numerous conspiracy theories involving Jews, Israel and the American administration.

Since then, it has been picked up and posted on dozens of sites and anti-Semitic blogs. Surfers who read it tried to copy it to more respectable forums and comment pages such as The Huffington Post in the U.S. and The Independent in Britain.

Yes, Hershel, there is nothing new under the antisemitic sun. They are very predictable and in every generation they recycle the same drivel.

During the last great depression the accusation were that Jews took funds and stashed them away in the ghettos of Eastern Europe, especially Poland.

Original, they are not.

jackson, you are quit wrong linking the anti-Semitism  with the Left. The US Left has a ton of anti-Semites, true - but so does the Right. Look no further than US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. If she's friend of Israel, I'm the Pope.

But me no buts, it's worse in Europe especially England.

The right, at this time, is not a threat, either to Jews or Israel. The left is a huge threat

Wake up, Sleepy.

Here are some leftist websites that fight antisemitism on the left and (on the right).

There are tons of others, but this should keep you busy and keep you from making a fool of yourself.

Calm down, I was just asking a question.

And the Huffington post is known to traffic in vile antisemitic anti-Zionist garbage.

Have they cleaned their act up for the election?

Mr. Peretz,

I believe that it was on this bolg that oyu linked an article blamin poor inner-city borrowers for the financial crisis.  I believe I commented that it was no different than blaming Jewish bankers.  (Although, I might have just thought it).  In this Country, certain groups will be blamed for economic difficulties.  It is too bad that you only pick up on it when you're group is implicated.

Assuming this is true, I have the only relevant questions:

How do I become Jewish and how long until I receive my share of the loot?

Actually, didn't Barney Frank cause all of this? So it is actually a cabal of Gay, Jewish bankers who have engineered this meltdown all in hopes of getting really good tables at Sardis or Tavern on the Green.

In light of the confirmation of the absolute insanity of a large portion of humanityIf you want to know where I will be from now on, I will be huddling in the back of a cave in the Andes.

Which country is "this country?" And what other ethnic group is being blamed?

sleepyavl  - Condoleezza Rice an anti-semite???

I’m not a fan of her.. but those who throw that epithet around so loosely make it much more difficult for thinking people to actually combat it.
