I wouldn't be screaming too loudly about the everlasting greatness of the Democratic party if I were you.  8 years ago, right after Bush was elected, I distinctly remember a TNR article arguing whether or not liberalism and the Democratic party were dead.  How short are your memories.  Only fools and fruity flies think all things human last forever.  In another 4-8 years, the cycle will turn around again.  Just like the economy.  Just like war and peace.  Idiots think that these are the best of times and/or the worst of times.  It's neither.  We've had much worse times and much better times than today.
