Rhythm

McCain did well enough handling the protesters, but the speech seems to really lack any sense of rhythm and cohesion. Crowley is right, too.

My wife is just sitting there agape. She's a low-information voter and she is trying to figure out how this clown got elected to any office.

And, now that McCain has switched to health care, my wife has switched the channel to Muay Thai boxing.

This is a truly awful speech.

McCain lacks rhythm? Isn't that some kind of racist jab at Obama, because he is half African-American he must have rhythm? The white guy doesn't?

Just kidding. McCain is such a baaaad speaker. Could his intonation and "expression" be more phony-sounding? It reminds me of a seventh grader reading aloud in class.

Here's a question that lingered from last night: what was up with all that "John S. McCain"? Were we supposed to think of Harry Truman and the end of a war? Or were we supposed to think of that pesky "H" between Barack and Obama?

If Obama had capped off his convention speech with a custom-made song that incorporated his name, the 'Pubs would've had a field day.  McCain does it and I guess it's all part of his putting country first...or something.

The John S. McCain bothered me too. I finally decided on Truman reference, since later in the speech Palin explicitly compared McCain to Truman. However, what percentage of the electorate will make this connection (if that is the suggestion)? Probably not many; really, it was just bizarre.
