Brian Beutler

Brian Beutler, a liberal blogger who many PLANK readers have probably come across, was shot three times last night during a robbery in Washington D.C. He is currently at a local hospital, where he is expected to make a full recovery.

Brian is a friend or acquaintance of many of the folks at TNR; he is also an exceedingly smart and kind and generous person. We wish him nothing but the best.

God bless, Brian.  I, and I am sure, all of the community here, wish for your complete recovery and for the apprehension of the perpetrators.  I live in Atlanta, where more and more of this seems to be happening, and I just wish that we could get a handle on the propensity of humans to hurt other humans.

I hope we hear more about this topic.

According to 2006 Crime Statistics, every day in DC one person is killed and 23 are victims of violent crimes.

Let's hear about the Suspect who robbed him.  Let's hear about how the Police investigate this case.  Let's hear about the neighborhood amd the crime statistics.

Instead of a one time homage to a friend, let's start a little personal diary on this crime and get the story out there.
