Jonah Goldberg:

Reading this piece about the Edwards endorsement of Obama, a cold shiver went down my spine. As scary as a Deval Patrick appointment as AG would be (I've long thought he would be Obama's likely choice), the suggestion that John Edwards would be even considered for Attorney General is horrifying. I really can't think of any mainstream political figure more inappropriate for that job than Edwards.

I'm assuming this means Jonah does not consider Alberto Gonzales to be "mainstream"...

I have yet to read a clearer endorsement of doing it then.  Go Edwards for AG!

I pushed the idea of John Edwards as AG the other day on The Spine. Jonah Goldberg is a self - parody. His book Liberal Fascism is the worst sort of tripe and was taken down in TNR by Nichael Tomasky. There was nothing left when Mr. Tomasky was through with it.

If that bag of wind, Jonah Goldberg, is shivering, that says a lot in favor of Edwards.  Any potential AG who didn't send a shiver of fear down Republican and neo-con spines wouldn't be worth thinking about.

Fredo was not a "mainstream political figure", as he was neither mainstream, nor political nor a figure.

I responded to Mr. Goldberg's call for opinions on Bush's legacy the other day, but I have yet to receive an acknowledgment that it was received.

liberal reformer, there was nothing with it to begin with. I suppose Mr. Tomasky reinforced it, but we could tell just by looking at the cover and the title that it was going to be an atrocity on paper.

Poverty Boy wants HHS, not AG.  He'll be a disaster either place, but hey, it's not my Cabinet.

Edwards can't be AG, Obama's already promised it to Bernadine Dohrn. I saw them talking about it in the produce section at Whole Foods where they were arguing over  the last batch of arugula left iin the case. (Couldn't actually hear what they were saying, and I guess it's possible that it was someone other than Obama and Dohrn I saw talking, but it sure sounds plausible based on everything I know about him from Fox News.)
