ah well, Fredo won't have to wait too long.  Another 8 months or so and then he can start carrying Bush's bags around Crawford and making sure his Nintendo is plugged in and ready to go...

Boot-blacking and ass-kissing are always growth industries.  Little Fredo will find employment soon!  Cry not.

Crack ... that was the sound my heart breaking.

What, you mean there is no post-AG market for inspirational speeches for Fredo?

I still can't get over the fact that he actually thinks a law firm would be interested in his "name".  I mean -

"What skills would you bring to the position?"

"I can't recall."

"What are some of your major legal accomplishments?"

"I recruited John Yoo write the torture memo."

"How much business can you bring to the law firm?"

"Well, if President Bush is impeached between now and November, he'll need lawyers, right?"

"How are you at mentoring young counsel?"

"Well, I believe in delegation with minimal supervision, especially if they come from law schools no one's heard of."

"There's been some talk about possible contempt citations or investigations on the part of Congress ..."

"Oh, you don't need to worry about that.  President Bush will give me a prospective pardon before he leaves office."

"Have you ever practiced law?"

"Not that I recall."

icarusr: Very funny post. Right on the money. But, hey, if Bill Clinton can milk the post-presidency and if John Ashcroft can milk the post-agcy, then AGAG deserves to make a great fortune doing little. He's earned it. He should get paid a lot to coast. If not, it's anti-Hispanic discrimination. Meanwhile, what he did to the Justice Department(and our and others rights) deserves jail time. And all his little flunkies too: his chief of staff, Monica Goodling, Brad Schlozman, and all the rest of them: JAIL!

If there is a God and if he/she/it has any sense of Justice, these arch criminals would pay.

Well at least he hasn't suffered the fate of that other Fredo(yet). If I were him I wouldn't go fishing with anybody in a small boat while saying a "Hail Mary" in hopes of catching a fish.

I wonder if his name were Richard Kleindienst or Edwin Meese he would had trouble getting employed by a law firm.

Why call him Fredo? As I recall, Fredo betrayed Michael for the chance to get some independence. Gonzales's flaw is that he would never, ever consider weaning himself from Bush's teat.

Seriously, isn't it a very good sign that law firms won't touch this guy? They must have done the calclulation that despite his rolodex, the Bush name has lost its value, and he's more trouble than he's worth. A good sign, right?
