Via The Page, this memo from the Clinton campaign is pretty hilarious:

With an eleven state winning streak coming out of February, Senator Obama is riding a surge of momentum that has enabled him to pour unprecedented resources into Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont.

If he cannot win all of these states with all this effort, there’s a problem.

I look forward to a Wednesday morning (victory) memo if Obama wins Texas, Ohio, and Vermont, but loses Rhode Island.

It's really at the level of self-parody now. Doesn't anyone see this?

I know it doesn't take much, but this one doesn't pass the straight face test.  That being said, reading this memo kind of makes me want to go work for Mark Penn because coming up with this stuff has got to be kind of fun.

Look for these future memos from the Clinton campaign:

"EInstein's Once-Promising Career Destroyed By 'Unified Field' Failure"

"The View from Everest's Summit: Okay, I Guess"

"Tiger Woods: Why So Few Double-Eagles?"

"Cirque du Soleil: When You've Seen One Tumbler, You've Seen Them All"

"Yes, Snails Are Slow. But Compared to Erosion? We Think Not."

"Rain Certainly Necessary, But Must It Be So Wet?"

Since I usually defend Hillary, I'll take this chance to agree.  This is sad and pathetic.  Please, let it end soon.

The question is whether the MSM ridicules this on the evening news and on the front pages of tomorrow's paper, as it deserves.

I like these lines: The Obama campaign and its allies are outspending us two to one in paid media and have sent more staff into the March 4 states. In fact, when all is totaled, Senator Obama and his allies have outspent Senator Clinton by a margin of $18.4 million to $9.2 million on advertising in the four states that are voting next Tuesday.

Allies? Is Obama a country now? And what has Clinton done with the 35 million she is boasting about, is she keeping it in reserve, so that if she does win one state she will have some money to go on and lose the majority of the rest of the states?

And this: "Senator Obama has campaigned hard in these states. He has spent time meeting editorial boards, courting endorsers, holding rallies, and - of course - making speeches."

While we have spent time writing memos and complaining of the unfair treatment the press has given us, but don't worry, we will be opening our campaign office in Vermont and should have it up and running on Wednesday.

This was kind of my favorite part of the memo:

"Senator Obama has campaigned hard in these states. He has spent time meeting editorial boards, courting endorsers, holding rallies, and - of course - making speeches."

Can't you just see the juvenile eye-rolling going here?  "Of course he's (sneering here) 'making speeches'.  Oooh, Mr. Big Talker.  All he does is talk on this campaign."

(Exchange high-fives, exuent to sound of muffled tears)

This is the connection that a lot of Clinton supporters fail to make. It's this kind of stuff, aparently done straightfaced, that makes the press hate her.

if you had to interact with staffers who insulted your intelligence to this degree on a daily level, wouldn't you hate them too?

This reads as more of a farce than that reader posted mock memo from MD,DC, VA primary night.  Is this douche bag really pulling down $4.2 mill for this stuff?

Honestly, I think this goes even beyond Mark Penn.  Obviously he has been replaced by a historical figure of such grandiose truths such as:

"Nobody came here. Those America losers, I think their repeated frequent lies are bringing them down very rapidly....  Baghdad is secure, is safe."

Meet Hillary's new campaign manager:  Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf (more commonly referred to by his stage name, Baghdad Bob)!

It must be really frustrating to work for The Onion right now, trying to come up with Clinton campaign stories that the Clinton campaign hasn't already beaten them to.

This really does take the whole concept of expectations-lowering to its logical extreme. Apparently Hillary really does think that she can lose her way to the nomination.

Plus, AP is now reporting that the Clinton campaign is threatening to sue Texas over its caucus process. No word yet on whether she's retained James Baker, or recruited congressional interns to stage fake riots.

Sad, sad, sad.

Speaking of Rhode Island, I completely forgot that I could be waiting in line in the rain right now for entrance to an Obama speech across town.

It's weird getting campaign and poll calls here; I'm not used to that.  What with the Chaffee-vs.-Whitehouse thing in '06, it's almost like voters in this state actually have a vague shot at affecting national politics now and then.
