More McCain Policy Wonkery

Earlier I wrote a post expressing incredulity that John McCain, of all people, would be attacking Barack Obama for lacking specific proposals. Somehow I neglected to include this video clip of him attempting to bluff his way through a subject he clearly knew zero about in a recent GOP debate:

Okay, some parts are spliced in, but it captures the spirit of the answer pretty well.

Serves as a reminder of McCain's next to last standing amongst his college class...  Looks like McCain plans on deferring to Jack Kemp on economic policy.  Lucky Jack.

McCain should get Miss Teen South Carolina to be his running mate.

Who is Mr. "Return to the Gold Standard" to question McCain on economic policy?

My my, aren't we feeling cocky these days? So McCain's an "asshole" with the "temperament of someone a third his age", as clever as a beauty contest airhead's airhead...

Do you guys really think this is going to be a cakewalk? Seriously?

Chris Matthews just played a clip of Hillary _talking about_ talking about details, and then said, "very detailed, isn't she."

What? Is _claiming substance_ what "being substantive" means in this election? What a farce.

This myth about Hillary's superior plans and proposals and knowledge is almost as unfounded as the myth that she alone can fight back against the right wing. Last time I checked, her campaign has been in an aimless tailspin since October 30th (read: cannot fight back well. At all.), and Obama debated her wonk to wonk in California (has a slim wonk advantage, if any).

But who'd believe it? This year's memes are not and will not be challenged.

Where's the beef? How about, where's the truth, Hillary? You lost the healthcare debate in 92-93, and that caused us to lose congress in 94. We all remember that experience, as much as we'd prefer not to, and we're just now climbing out of the hole you put us in.

Finally someone noticed this clip, jesus.

If you can ignore the questioner (and some people can't), it is amazing how completely lost and totally inarticulate McCain is about the ebbs and flows of international economics, his general perception of America's role economically, etc...

Sorry, I know people like the guy, but he's unfit to be President, period. He's unfit intellectually and probably emotionally as well.

Just to show that I'm not being a partisan hater, Mitt Romney was totally fit to be president.

Thing about HRC or Obama (or Romney or Guiliani or even Paul, for that matter), is that when asked, they can speak expansively and clearly on these issues. They all clearly comprehend them. McCain just doesn't.

Has anyone watched MSNBC tonight? The media cannot stand the idea of this race ending. It's as if Obama is in trouble for winning so much.
